ABS Technology in TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS

ABS Technology in TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS

Automobile markets have been witnessing a lot more change than one could expect. Everyday there is some new innovation in the world of two wheelers. No company wants to lack behind in these changing times. Thus, TVS has come up with ABS technology in its Apache RTR 180.

TVS has introduced Anti-lock Braking System on its flagship product, the Apache RTR 180.  The company has given its premium segment offering formidable stopping power with ABS technology which significantly improves braking and is a prominent safety measure often found on all modern-day cars.

Jointly developed by TVS along with Continental Corporation, the ABS system prevents the brakes from locking under emergency situations and at the same time improves overall braking performance by reducing stopping distance and time in all weather conditions like dry or wet, thus helping in improving the overall safety of the rider. With the ABS technology, an average rider will have 10-25 per cent quicker stopping distance on dry roads and 20-30 per cent on wet roads. Whereas, the professionals will be able to achieve 16 percent quicker stopping distance on wet roads.
Speaking of safety, Apache RTR 180 ABS also sports another safety feature termed as Rear Wheel lift-off protection (RLP). The main aim of this RLP feature is to prevent the rear wheel from lifting off the road in a panic braking condition. RLP is smart way to protect bikers because it senses the rear wheel lifting and immediately releases the front brake pressure for a fraction. Thus the rear wheel always sticks to the ground. Bikers also have an option to switch ABS on/off according to their wish. With maximum power of 17bhp @ 8500rpm, the Apache churns out 15.5Nm of torque at 6500 rpm and delivers upto 44-45 kmpl of mileage. Available only in glittering white colour and tubeless tyres, the bike will be sold via select few dealerships across the country. One thing is for sure that ABS technology will reduce the number of accidents. The Indian motorcycle market is ever developing and we will see lot of bikes come up with ABS and safety features anytime soon.
